Ken (verb)

a. to know, have knowledge of or about, or be acquainted with

b. to understand or perceive

During Covid I dug up a genealogy project that had been put aside. In his later years my dad became interested in family history and we worked together to try to solve the mystery of his mother, Lizzie Clark Millar.

Lizzie never celebrated her birthday or talked about her parents. Who was she and where did she come from?

I solved the mystery but too late to share it with Dad who died in 2012. Lizzie remains an enigma in many ways but curiosity about her led to the bigger project of tracking our ancestors back as far as 1600.

Both sides of the family are represented: the Moffats from Paisley, Renfrewshire and the Robertsons from Leith, Midlothian.

I hope this site will inspire you to look back and make your own discoveries.
