The Wee Museum of Memory

In 2021 I discovered the Spirit of Leithers FaceBook page and my research into the Robertsons took off.

I’ve met one cousin and reconnected with another by posting in the group, and learned so much about Leith history and customs, not to mention tips for further research.

Some of the addresses are no longer in existence but people post historic photos and that helped me get a sense of what Leith was like in the 1800s and early 1900s.

The Cardboard Box factory on Bonnington Road

My nana Georgina Robertson 1910 worked here before she was married. I posted these photos of the factory on Bonnington Road on the Spirt of Leithers FB page and got 156 comments! One of them was from a second cousin who I knew when we were children. People posted stories about their family members who worked there…

I’m so excited to be able to go to the Wee Museum soon! And I’ll post photos of what I find…
